Adam Purple and The Garden of Eden

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VfBvdzgQxY

Last Thursday, the boy and I went to the opening of Adam Purple and The Garden of Eden down on the Lower East Side. The photographer behind the project, Harvey Wang, has become very dear to me after working together last year and I was excited to support his personal work. I had never heard of Adam, or his garden, but was blown away by the story. It was particularly touching to witness Adam entering the show and viewing the photographs on display for the first time.

The exhibition is open to the public until February 20th at the FusionArts Museum (Gallery B). Definitely check it out.

These commercials for EF language schools are so beautiful and the typography choices are spot on. Watch the above made for Paris and then follow the links to view BarcelonaLondon, and Beijing.

Snow

We are just thawing out after being snowed in for the past few days here in Manhattan. Can’t complain too much as we spent the time with family and good friends, watching movies, going to the MoMa, playing games, and eating lots of good food.

Hope you are enjoying the snowy holiday season!

Google Zeitgeist 2010

Nice 2010 recap video from Google promoting Zeitgeist 2010, an interactive presentation based on the aggregation of billions of search queries people typed into Google this year.

“Christmas Lights”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1rYmzQ8C9Q

Let Coldplay’s holiday video for, “Christmas Lights”, complete with dancing Elvises, fireworks and colorful piano, be a gentle reminder that you have T-minus 19 days to start/finish shopping.

Rent a Christmas Tree

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfIMzpi2KEY

Now here’s a pretty clever idea - RENT a live Christmas tree for the holidays, rather than purchase a cut (and soon to be dead) tree. A live, potted tree is delivered to your doorstep… then after Christmas it’s returned to a nursery where it will be replanted, until being potted and rented again next year. You can even watch your tree grow by “adopting” the same tree every year.

The service featured in the video above is located in LA, but there are businesses throughout the country that are doing the same thing… check this list to see what facilities are near you.
